When we say medidcal students, it can mean several things these days. Not everyone going into the medical profession plans necessarily to go into being a doctor, hospital or private home based GP. By the same token, just saying I want to be a nurse, no longer signals you want to be the one standing by he bedside with thermometer in one hand and bedpan in the other. There are of course hundreds of streams within the Health Service – hospitals, clinics, care homes, out of town clinics etc The need for all kinds of disciplines has never been stronger than today. The NHS is struggling with budget cuts means that some staff are not replaced as quickly as the other and new members not sent on courses as early or often. The chance to train fully for the role in hand has never been greater than now and every healthcare personnel is encouraged to partcipate.
