Key Stage

The period in a pupil's education to which the elements of the National Curriculum apply. For example:

• Key Stage 1 (KS1) - 5-7 year-olds
• Key Stage 2 (KS2) - 7-11 year-olds
• Key Stage 3 (KS3) - 11-14 year-olds
• Key Stage 4 (KS4) - 14-16 year-olds
