January can be such an odd month – very much a low down after the excitement of Christmas and the new year festivities for most families. However, where there are nurses and hospital staff amongst us, we will be familiar with duty rotas that intrude and make us feel we’re missing out. But in one family I know, the mum has been a nurse all her adult life now always volunteers to do Christmas eve shift – nurses with younger children don’t want to work, so it suits her. Many other healthcare workers don’t ever have to think about shifts over weekends or holidays as their branch of care only works 9-5 weekday hours. These jobs can be trained for by way of online courses and many a phlebotomist has found their calling by taking a healthcare career changing training course! Checking the online training requirements will be the first step.
