Higher Education

Higher education (HE) is provided by Universities and other collegial institutions and offers a wide range of qualifications from Certificates of Higher Education, Foundation and undergraduate degrees, all the way up to postgraduate awards such as PGCEs, Masters Degrees and Doctorates.
Although the majority of HE students come straight from school and A'levels, this isn't always the case. There are many part-time and full-time mature students, many of whom applied without 'traditional' formal entry qualifications. There are a wide variety of higher education courses, along with a range of different methods of study to suit students' existing commitments. Anyone who is unable to consider a full-time course due to family or work commitments may take advantage of some of the flexible study options offered by many colleges and universities. These can enable students to enrol and study for courses either part-time or online, making Higher Education truly available to all.
In this section, we take a look at some of the reasons why you might decide to embark on an HE course along with the qualifications you might need. There's also some handy advice on choosing you course and institution, along with a step-by step guide on how to apply.
