Choosing a College or University

Choosing a College or University

If you've decided to embark on a higher education course, there are a number of considerations you need to take into account when choosing your college or university. In some ways, where you study is almost as important as what you study - if you're happy and settled, you'll be much more likely to enjoy your course.

Think about where you'd like to be located - in a peaceful rural location or in the middle of a busy city? Would you prefer a campus institution, or something more integrated into the city or town? What social facilities are you looking for? Is it important to have ready access to gig venues, pubs, clubs, cinemas and sports facilities? How high is the cost of living in that area? How much will food, rent and entertainment set you back?

In this section, we take a look at all the issues you'll need to consider when deciding which university or college to attend, along with the information you can gather to enable you to make a fully informed choice.
