Infant Communication
Children begin to learn how to communicate long before they utter their first word. Babies often babble, squeal or cry to get their point across and may also be taught to use simple signs to express their thoughts and needs. Toddlers quickly learn how to use the first few words of their vocabulary to convey simple and then increasingly complex messages.
In this section, we take a look at some of the ways you can encourage your baby or toddler to be an effective communicator, along with some practical tips on how to develop their listening and conversation skills.
